The Bell in Ticehurst | Wedding Photography in East Sussex | Katy and Aljosha

December 28, 2016

Words and Photographs:

I first met Katy and Aljosha in their home town of Tunbridge Wells over a relaxed coffee on a Sunday afternoon.  The more I learned about their wedding plans, the more I was secretly hoping they would choose me to photograph their wedding and I was over the moon when they booked me for what was to be an unforgettable day at The Bell in Ticehurst.

The Bell in Ticehurst has to be one of the most unique venues I have ever worked in.  It is absolutely tremendous.  From the red carpet walkway to a ceremony room straight from a indeterminate vintage era and little quirks around every corner it is a photographer’s heaven.  If you add to this a couple who clearly had one mission on their wedding day…. to have fun….  and you know you have the winning combination.  Even the persistent rain we had all day didn’t matter a bit – nothing could detract from this wedding…

Early in our wedding talks, Katy swore me to secrecy about a surprise she had for Aljosha (who is Serbian) in the form of a brilliant Serbian Brass Band who where to appear shortly after the speeches….  the look on Aljosha’s face when the band suddenly appeared was priceless!

So, without further ado, here’s a selection of images, starting at Katy’s preparations at her brother’s home nearby to the celebrations at The Bell in Ticehurst…
